How can you make a difference?
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Social Policy and Advocacy UNICEF Uganda the consultant to (i) edit and finalize two child poverty reports, (ii) edit 6 budget issue papers, (iii) develop a summary situation analysis of child poverty and deprivation in Uganda, and (iv) write a situation analysis of children’s health in Uganda by consolidating existing health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS and WASH inputs.
Key Tasks:
- Child Poverty Volume 1: Review and copy edit the Child Poverty report (Quantitative) vol. 1 (80-100 pages)
- Child Poverty Volume 2: Review and copy edit the Child Poverty report (Qualitative) vol. 2 (80-100 pages)
- Budget Issue papers: Review and copy edit 6 sector Budget Issue papers to support the writing of the sector budget framework papers.
- Situation analysis of children in Uganda 2018 – summary: On the basis of the child poverty reports outlined above, and relevant recent publications, formulate a summary of the situation analysis of child poverty and deprivation in Uganda (15-20 pages).
- Situation analysis on Children’s Health: Write a situation analysis of children’s health in Uganda by consolidating existing, and readily available, SitAn documents for Nutrition, RMNCH, HIV/AIDs and WASH (30-40 pages).
To qualify asan advocate for every child you will have…
- University degree in social sciences or a closely related field.
- Exceptional understanding of the situation of children in Uganda, as well as local institutional and policy frameworks.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional work experience at national and international level in analysis, report writing and copy editing on child rights related work.
- Extensive experience elaborating analytical studies as well as producing timely and high quality analytical reports.
- Knowledge on children’s rights in general and the situation in Uganda preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, advocacy and report writing skills.
- Computer literacy, especially with excel, is required.
