Position Title : Health Data Processing Assistant

Type of Appointment: Short term, six months with possibility of extension

Context:
IOM Somalia’s Migration Health Division (MHD) is currently implementing health projects across all major regions and migration points in the country, including primary healthcare service delivery through static and mobile health clinics, health systems strengthening initiatives, and medical support to migrants and returnees. IOM is recruiting a Health Data Processing Assistant to support monitoring and evaluation of health programming.
The successful candidate will be responsible for data capture and compilation, data reconciliation and quality control, database development and management, statistical and non-statistical analysis, generation of routine and customized reports, and support in implementation of operational research activities.

Education
Experience
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access and Power Point.
· Experience in the use of STATA, SPSS, SAS, and/or Epi Info.
· Understanding of statistical principles necessary for data analysis
· Knowledge of and experience working with public health indicators is an advantage
· Capable of working under stressful and difficult conditions.
· Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
· Mature individual, able to work independently, effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels.
· Previous work experience with an international organization or NGO implementing health programmes is an advantage.
Languages
Fluency in English and Somali is required.

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable
