WWF Mediterranean is looking for a consultant or network secondment to help the program build a Public Sector and Foundations marine project portfolio for North African countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya). The job is initially for one year with the possibility to extend depending on results achieved.
Location/Contract Details:
WWF office in Casablanca, Tunis, Rome; working from home also possible but frequent travel to the region is required.
This is a one-year consultancy or secondment from the WWF network.
Context:
WWF Mediterranean is responsible for developing and implementing WWF programs in North Africa, including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. Oceans/marine is a key conservation priority for WWF in North Africa. Strategic objectives reflect the WWF Mediterranean Marine Initiative strategy and focus on transforming fisheries policies and supporting sustainable small scale fisheries; establishing a system of effectively managed marine protected areas; promoting a sustainable blue economy. WWF operations in North Africa are supported by two country offices in Tunisia and Morocco.
Major functions:
The manager, development and fundraising is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, particularly in the public sector partnership dimension, building dialogue and relations with the relevant donor agencies, as well as coordinating and facilitating interactions with project partners, WWF PSP team and WWF offices, to develop & submit successful project proposals. He/she represents WWF in meetings and discussions with bilateral and multilateral organizations leading to potential funding opportunities.

We expect that in 12 months project funding proposals for a potential funding of 3 to 5 M€ are submitted with a good chance of approval and expected funding availability for the FYs 21-24.
