We seek a dynamic professional for a Financial Expert role in an exciting fund management project in Ghana.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
ยท Provide grant management support, including technical and financial reporting and compliance
ยท Lead meetings and engagements with project stakeholders to ensure continued or new financial or technical support to the project
ยท Contribute to resource mobilisation strategies
ยท Strengthen resource mobilisation systems, grants and investment management in consultation with the client
ยท Track priorities and trends in international funding that could impact the fundโs opportunities
ยท Manage technical and financial proposal development, submission and negotiation
ยท Liaise with the client to identify new funding opportunities, design projects, engage potential partners and develop tools to support resource mobilisation and grant management efforts
ยท Assist with the setup and monitoring of activities (including financial) and the implementation of project activities and budgets
ยท Follow up on policy interpretation to ensure full compliance with project requirements
ยท Develop activity budgets and oversee grant implementation
ยท Maintain complete and updated activity files
ยท Work with procurement staff to ensure timely delivery and documentation of items
ยท Prepare and maintain grant documents consistent with all applicable requirements
Experience and Education
ยท A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, ICAG, CIMA)
ยท A Masterโs degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
ยท A minimum of 10 yearsโ postโqualification experience in a similar environment, including managing an accounting department or donor-funded project accounts
ยท Experience in interpreting financial management reports, analysing variations to plans and determining corrective actions required
ยท Knowledge of international financial reporting standards & international standards on auditing
ยท Knowledge of public sector accounting procedures and operational knowledge of international and country financial and accounting management practices, including MIS applications
ยท Experience and familiarity with donor disbursement procedures, reporting requirements, submission of withdrawal applications and the maintenance of Designated Accounts
ยท Skills in financial management supervision
ยท Capacity to be a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide advice and recommend actions
ยท Technical and conceptual knowledge of financial management

ยท Analytical skills and ability to develop and implement accounting systems
ยท Working knowledge in Microsoft office application software and use of computerised accounting systems
ยท Basic knowledge in procurement principles and procedures
ยท Report writing and presentation skills
ยท Excellent skills in project management demonstrated in previous jobs
