The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is seeking a dynamic Technical Specialist in Mozambique to support the Country Programs with design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SBCC (Social Behaviour Change Communication) strategies, as well as building the capacity of GAINs partners and their frontline workers in SBCC, fulfilling the food and nutrition portfolio’s vision. This role is offered on an initial fixed term contract of up to 24 months, with the possibility that this might be extended for a longer term thereafter.

About the Role
The purpose of the Technical Specialist, SBCC is to provide technical assistance for designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating SBCC strategies. Additionally, they will be accountable for delivering capacity-building to GAINs partners and their frontline workers in SBCC. They will ensure best practices and global learning to inform effective SBCC strategies, frameworks, tools and materials for GAIN programme interventions. The role will be mainly based in Maputo, Mozambique but includes regular travel to the country provinces.
The Technical Specialist will report to the Head of Programmes, GAIN Mozambique.

About You
To be considered for this position, it is essential that you have experience in an SBCC programme implementation, ideally gained from working within the private sector or through collaboration with private sector partners. You should have demonstrable field experience in the development sector, or practical experience in SBCC and the designing, setting up, monitoring, evaluating and impact assessment of SBCC and Demand Generation processes. Applicants should possess a broad knowledge of the nutrition-food security nexus, public health and community development relative to Mozambique.
In addition, you will need to hold a Masters’ degree in communications and marketing management/ social science/ economics/ business, or an equivalent level of experience. Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken) is essential.

The salary on offer for this role is $28,276 per annum.
