Position Summary
AKF is seeking an experienced and dynamic AGECS Country Project Manager to provide leadership in coordinating the planning, provision of capacity strengthening and ensure successful implementation of the AGECS Sub-Project (s) in collaboration with women’s and gender equality organizations in Uganda for a period of 30 months .The role reports to the Country Manager with a technical reporting line to the AGECS Regional Project Manager and will coordinate with the Country Gender Focal Point/Coordinator, the M&E Coordinator, and the Finance Manager to ensure that the project is compliant and achieves its intended results. The AGECS Sub-Grant component is a part of the Global Affairs Canada-funded Foundations for Education and Empowerment (F4EE) in Uganda.
F4EE is active in five countries (Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda) and will improve education systems at the pre-primary and primary level, in addition to strengthening women’s empowerment, and gender equality. As part of the AGECS component up to 15 Sub-Grants will be issued to partnerships in the five countries comprised of Women’s Organizations and Gender-Equality focused civil society organizations (CSOs) implementing gender equality targeted and gender equality transformative programming.
The AGECS Country Project Manager for the AGECS Sub-Projects will be based in Kampala with some regular travel to the West Nile region, specifically Arua.
Responsibilities
The AGECS Country Project Manager will be responsible in providing leadership in planning and coordinate the effective implementation of the Country AGECS Sub-Project (s) and their implementing partners to ensure the project is implemented on time, on budget, achieving all intended project outcomes, and remaining compliant to all donor requirements. S/he will also provide technical support on civil society strengthening, M&E and Gender Equality alongside the Country Gender Equality Coordinator, Country M&E Coordinator, Country Program Manager and the AGECS Regional Project Manager.
