The Opportunity
The Climate Resilience Advisor provides technical leadership and support to the oPt and Egypt country programs in line with the respective Country Office Strategic Plans (CSPs), Regional and SCI global priorities. The TA will work in collaboration with other advisors to support overarching CO priorities, including programme adaptation and integration, advancing the localisation agenda, gender and disability inclusion, , adolescent wellbeing, and child participation. The role will provide high quality technical assistance to the development of Project Ideas, Concept Notes and Funding Proposals, as well as support project implementation and portfolio monitoring and evaluation. Working in close coordination with member offices and regional advisors, this position will play a key role to strengthen SCI’s child-focused climate capacity, primarily through hands on technical assistance, strategic and programmatic design and support, advocacy, fund-raising, capacity building (training / mentoring / coaching), talent acquisition and development, response planning support and surge capacity for implementation and emergencies. The advisor will maintain close collaboration with other CO and regional climate advisors, the global Climate Resilience lead and the global climate technical working group.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the post holder will be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Travel requirements for this role: 50% travel between countries Egypt and opt.
The role holder should be able to enter and travel between both mentioned countries)
The position includes regular travel to SCI’s programs in oPt and Egypt.
