Open Development is recruiting a candidate for a Deputy Director, Health Financing contingent upon award of an upcoming Round under the 5‐year USAID‐funded Promoting Results and Outcomes through Policy and Economic Levers (PROPEL) APS. The purpose of PROPEL is to improve the enabling environment for equitable and sustainable health services, supplies and delivery systems through: policy development and implementation; adequate, predictable, and sustainable financing; enhanced government stewardship, transparency, and accountability; and an engaged and informed civil society prepared to advocate for improved systems and outcomes. The Deputy Director for Health Financing will lead the development of the health financing related project portfolio, providing strategic direction and technical leadership in health financing across all project activities. They will work collaboratively with the project team, USAID, global partners, governments, civil society, the private sector and other local organizations to support health financing policy dialogue, capacity development and reform.
The Deputy Director, Health Financing will lead the health financing portfolio of an upcoming USAID project. The preferred location for this position is Washington D.C but is negotiable. Interested candidates must have at least ten (10) years’ experience working internationally in Health Financing and technical knowledge of policy, advocacy, financing, and governance approaches.
