Working within the WaterAid Burkina Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance is accountable for providing strategic leadership and takes responsibility for all finance issues within the Country Programme (CP), to enable optimal decision-making for the successful delivery of strategic plans by:
* Leading the effective functioning of the Finance department including: financial accounting, reporting, planning and risk management;
* Lead in ensuring that resources are secured, safeguarded and utilised for intended purposes;
* Ensuring provision of financial performance insight, support for financial planning, funds management and assurance over the financial control environment.
To be successful, you’ll need these significant essential criteria:
* Must be Professionally Qualified Accountant and ideally a member of an internationally recognised accounting body i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Financial Management from a reputable academic institution;
* Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience, of which at least five (5) must be in senior management in a reputable organization (preferably an international development organization);
* Strong knowledge of fund accounting regulations for non-profit organizations e.g USAID; EU; GAC; FCDO etc;
* Strong knowledge of financial management best practices and experience of monitoring budgets and systems development
* Demonstrated expertise of leading, managing, and motivating team members and building high performing teams;
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in both French and English;
