(a) To provide legal support to the business to achieve team targets and corporate goals in a timely and professional manner.
(b) To provide general legal advice and bring commercial outlook to the law.
(c) To liase with the Africa Legal Manager to provide a legal strategy for the business.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
You will drive and be the key owner to the following responsibilities:
Drafting and reviewing of contracts and documents on transactions affecting the business and participating in meetings and negotiations (where necessary) to ensure minimal exposure by the company to external parties.
Liaising with regulatory bodies as may be required e.g. NCA, EPA, DAs, etc.
Analysing cases/issues affecting the company and advising on strategy, settlement, litigation or ADR as the case might require.
Providing legal opinions and procuring external legal opinions where necessary and to follow up on issues arising.
Managing the local legal team to deliver on targets.
Managing the company’s relationship with external solicitors to ensure the delivery of value to the company.
Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Law Degree
At least 5 years of work experience.
Qualifying certificate in Law, Enrolment in Roll of lawyers
