SHOFCO is a grassroots organization that unlocks the potential of urban slum dwellers to lead hopeful and fulfilling lives. SHOFCO disrupts survival mode by providing critical services including health care, clean water, education, and economic empowerment; and links these efforts to a community-led advocacy platform. Over the next 5-10 years, SHOFCO aims to become a national platform for urban slum transformation across Kenya, demonstrating a scalable and replicable model that can be used around the world.
SHOFCO’s 5-year Strategic Plan Objective number 3 is about Partnerships. These partnerships are intended to be with Government (both National and County), Civil Society organizations (INGOs. LNGOs, CBOs, FBOs), the Private Sector, Academic institutions, individuals, etc. SHOFCO is in search of someone who will focus on nurturing these relations, maintain and update a database with contacts of such partners, areas of mutual interest, and their key contact persons, regularly report on this, and demonstrate the value being derived from this.
The job holder will be responsible for growing SHOFCO’s strategic and operational partners, building partners and staff competencies in the management of partnerships; and ensuring risks in partnership relationships are reduced to the barest minimum. This will include representing SHOFCO in meetings of interest, nurturing partnerships and securing MOUs with different government entities, the private sector, INGOs, LNGOs, etc. and ensuring the efficient implementation and tracking of such MOUs.
The post holder will contribute to managing and nurturing relationships supporting the SHOFCO’s multi-sectoral initiatives and resource utilization.
