Technical Advisor- Quality Assurance and Compliance, Egypt
We are seeking a Technical Advisor- Quality Assurance and Compliance for an anticipated multiyear, USAID-funded agribusiness project, Food-Security and Agribusiness Support (FAS I). FAS I will address agriculture challenges in Egypt and is expected to: a) strengthen agriculture markets and trade; b) improve agricultural practices and value added processing; and c) improve agriculture inputs and sector services.
Responsibilities:
Work with processors and end markets to develop supply chains integrating smallholder producers.
Work with producers and enterprises to develop their capacity to identify and respond to market quality requirements.
Build the capacity agricultural service provision to provide market-driven services to farmers.
Develop and implement quality standards all along agricultural value chains.
Facilitate strategic, commercially viable partnerships between value chain actors.
Facilitate private sector engagement and investment among various levels of agriculture value chains including but not limited to producer, processor, wholesaler and exporter levels.
Qualifications:
Degree in trade, agricultural development, agronomy or other relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience, preferably in the areas of agricultural extension, value chain development cost benefit analysis, agri-business development, marketing, processing, etc.
