The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations Agency whose mission is enabling poor rural people to improve their food security and nutrition, raise their incomes, and strengthen their resilience. To achieve these goals IFAD develops and finances programs and projects aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and incomes and reducing rural poverty. IFAD is headquartered in Rome, Italy. It has offices in 40 countries and finances programs and projects in more than 90 countries.
Post’s organizational accountability
The Communications Division (COM) leads implementation of IFAD’s Communication Strategy and acts variously as facilitator, partner and leader with regards to delivery of IFAD’s internal and external communication work. COM is a strategic partner for IFAD departments, divisions, offices and units in Rome and across the globe. The division has a team of expert staff in media relations, video production, writing, publishing, web and other digital media, graphic design, visual identity, brand management, internal communication and events management to meet IFAD’s communication priorities.

Increased familiarity with IFAD’s brand and achievements in the sub-region; greater capacity of IFAD Hub and other staff to carry out communications activities in line with regional strategy and IFAD’s overall Communication Strategy.
Representation / Work relationships
The Communication Analyst works under the daily supervision of the Regional Communication Officer and must work closely with other COM staff, as well as working in daily coordination with IFAD operational staff. Must also work well with project staff and partners, as well as media and civil society.

Applicants should note that IFAD staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the President of IFAD, and they may be assigned by him/her to any of the activities of IFAD, including field assignments and/or rotation within IFAD.
