The Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an independent not-for profit organisation that works with media and civil society to promote positive change in conflict zones, closed societies, and countries in transition around the world.
The Role:Â
We are seeking a Program Coordinator for a fixed term from February to June 2021 (5 months) to assist with the coordination of IWPR’s activities in Nigeria. In particular, the Project Coordinator will assist with delivery of the Africa Resilience Network project.
The Africa Resilience Network programme runs until June 2021, and will build a network of journalists, activists and analysts to identify and expose coronavirus-related misinformation.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with project coordination experience for non-profit organisations in Nigeria, a track record in ensuring donor compliance, an understanding of the traditional and new media environment in Nigeria, and strong people skills.
The role will involve coordinating select local activities – in particular, overseeing a number of small grants awarded to journalists – in close consultation with IWPR’s existing in-country partners.
