Consultancy Services for Monitoring/Supervision for Tappita to Toe Town (40km) of the South Eastern Road Corridor
The objective of the Consultant’s role as the Project Manager is to provide timely and orderly required advice to minimise any potential risk to the Employer by verifying the achievement of all contractual requirements under the civil works contract within the stipulated time and budget.
Within that role the Consultant will be responsible for assisting the Client to establish and implement an appropriate regime for managing the civil works contract and for identifying future developments based on lessons learnt.
The Consultant’s Services as Project Manager are defined and described as follows:
Environmentalist/Sociologist:
The Environmentalist/Sociologist shall be a qualified professional with an academic degree in Environmental Management and Social Science Management, Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline. This professional shall have a minimum of 8 years of experience working on environmental management and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of environmental and social issues (such as evaluating environmental management plan (EMP) or Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Social impact Assessment (SIA), and Social Management Plan (SMP), Environment, Health, Social Plan (EHSP)), initiatives and impact assessment and mitigation measures in developing and tropical countries. The specialist shall have proven experience in impact assessment management within the road sector in developing countries and preferably participation in one project related to OPRC / DBFMT / DBOT / DBO type of contract. Fluency in both written and spoken English and ability to communicate ideas freely is essential.
