Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.
One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty. Around the world, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them. In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organizations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.
implemented both development, and humanitarian and policy interventions to support practical and innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty. We work with local stakeholders to find lasting solutions to the root causes which keep people in poverty.

Our vision for the region remains “a just and sustainable future for all people in Southern Africa”. We are committed to our mission to “fight inequality to end poverty and injustice”. The SAF Programs Director will be responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and effective management of the SAF regional program, ensuring development of the Partnership model, continued improvement in quality and impact of program and effective financial and human resource management in line with Oxfam Policy.
With support from the Oxfam in Africa Deputy Director/Oxfam International Global Programs Director (OI PD), the SAF Programs Director will implement the Oxfam 2030 Vision. This vision aims to create a stronger Oxfam that is globally coordinated and relevant in every location in which we work, as well as develop a stronger presence and influence of Oxfam across the SADC countries.
The SAF Programs Director has overall responsibility for the Oxfam International (OI) program in Southern Africa and is accountable to the SAF Regional Governance Group.
