Organizational Setting
The Forest and Farm Facility Programme is a global partnership initiative between FAO, IUCN, IIED and Agri-cord. In Africa, the FFF programme covers 6 core countries (Kenya, Zambia, Madagascar, Ghana, Tanzania and Togo) and 2 network countries (The Gambia and Liberia). The goal of Phase II of the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) is to support forest and farm producers and their organizations to be primary change agents of ‘Climate Resilient Landscapes and Improved Livelihoods.’ These producers are key players in reducing poverty and significant contributors for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to fight climate change as part of the Paris agreement. With its unique focus on women and youth within the smallholder producer groups as vital agents for change, Phase II will contribute to at least 11 of 17 SDGs.
In Kenya, the FFF is being implemented in 7 counties (Laikipia, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Bomet, Kericho, Baringo and Bungoma). The FFF programme works in partnership with Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Farm Forestry Smallholder Producers Association of Kenya (FFSPAK) and the respective counties.
