Seureca is the Consulting Engineering Division of Veolia, the global leader in services to the environment with 160 years history. Seureca assists its clients to design and implement solutions to today’s environmental challenges in the fields of Water, Energy and Solid Waste in the industrial, municipal and tertiary sectors.
As part of technical assistance, Seureca is looking for a project coordinator, for a period of 3.5 years, based in Mauritius.
The project aims to fight against plastic pollution by supporting at the regional level the evolution of behaviors and the commitment of stakeholders, particularly companies, in a “3R” dynamic. The Regional Project Coordinator will ensure in particular: To regularly maintain a dialogue of trust with the End Customer and his staff; To demonstrate skill and diplomacy in its exchanges with the Authorities of the beneficiary countries of the Project and in particular their main interlocutor, the National Focal Point; To maintain a positive and result-oriented team spirit within the Project Management unit; Comply with client rules and regulations in all procurement and project management procedures; To respect the administrative procedures, the client’s code of ethics.
Qualifications and skillsÂ
Graduate of an engineering or university school with a specialized study diploma (Bac +5 years) in environmental economics or waste management;
Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
General work experience
12 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 6 years of experience in a position of responsibility and with proven expertise in the field of waste management / sustainable development, at national or international level;
Significant experience in the circular economy.
Specific professional experiences and skills
5 years required in international project management as a regional project coordinator;
Proven ability and experience of working in political environments and with foreign partners;
A proven ability to respectfully conduct negotiations with various public and private partners;
A proven ability to lead, supervise and work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Contacts with teams previously managed over the past 6 years should be provided;
Experience in developing partnerships at regional and international level for project implementation;
Knowledge of the challenges of the economy of SIDS; Experience with the world of applied research;
Experience with international donors (AFD, FFEM, others) would be appreciated.
