Jhpiego seeks a Governance and Decentralization Director to provide technical leadership and oversight of governance, decentralization and accountability components for an upcoming five-year USAID-funded Local Health Solutions (LHS) activity in Liberia. This project aims to improve the delivery of quality health services through strengthened local health systems.
The Governance and Decentralization Director will lead and serve as the primary subject matter expert on decentralization, accountability and governance, providing leadership, day-to-day management oversight, and technical direction and supervision for these components. In collaboration with the MOH, Technical implementation teams, partners, and other collaborators, the Governance and Decentralization Director will design day-to-day management of technical assistance efforts on decentralization & accountability, plan, and oversee project activities, under the direction of the Chief of Party and as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
The Governance and Decentralization Director will support the Ministry of Health, Country and District Health Teams, and health facilities to advance the Ministry of Healthās decentralization agenda, in particular through the strengthening of County Health Boards, District Health Boards, Hospital Boards, and Health Facility Development Committees. The Governance and Decentralization Director will also oversee capacity strengthening of local civil society organizations to increase health advocacy and accountability at subnational levels.
