Short-term Expert – Green Finance/Insurance Full Time

Background

The Private and Financial Sector (PFS) is a GIZ funded project aims to improve the employment situation in the micro, small and medium-sized companies in selected regions of Ghana.

We are looking for International and National Short Term Experts for an Expert Pool.

Job Description

Your tasks:

• Capacity building/training to understand sustainable, green, and inclusive finance principles
  
• Support to develop disability guidelines for insurance companies
  
• Build capacity of National Insurance Commission (NIC) on Insurance service delivery for MSMEs and develop skills in reviewing digital products and distribution channels
  
• Development of Guidelines on product development for Financial Service Providers (FSP)
  
• Capacity building for FSPs/NIC staff on understanding sustainable/green financing
  
• Support FSPs on development of policies that align with sustainable/green finance guidelines issued by regulators

Candidate’s Profile

Your Profile:

• A university degree (Master’s) in Banking, Insurance, Finance, Economics, Development Studies, Sustainable Finance, Law, Public Policy or any other related field
• Language: all experts with knowledge of English, C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

General professional experience

• For international pool: Minimum 9 years of professional experience in financial systems development (banking or insurance, and pensions) of which 5 years in sub-Saharan Africa
• For national pool: Minimum 8 years’ experience in the financial and MSME sector or the Insurance industry in Ghana
  

Specific professional experience

• For international pool: 10 years of professional experience in regulatory and supervisory framework development for the financial sector or the insurance industry including sustainable green financing or insurance principles respectively in emerging markets and ability to offer trainings to regulators and financial service providers
• For national pool: 7 years of professional experience in the Financial and MSMEs sectors together with high level expertise in the area of financial products design, development, and deployment in MSMEs; Environment, social, and governance (ESG) principles and integration of sustainability practices or in the Insurance and Pensions industry in the area of inclusive regulations and sustainability.
• Additional experiences (only for international expert pool): 3 years of training experience or work experience in Africa, Asia, or Latin America and minimum 5 years of experience in Development Cooperation.
