Overview of position | Chelsea Communications is a Cape-Town based team skilled in communication and B2B marketing. We are part of the Chelsea Group, a stable of global companies that specialise in solutions for challenging environments, helping to enable change and lay foundations for positive growth. The Chelsea Group’s services range from humanitarian HR, clean water solutions, risk management and security, camp build and management for complex environments, crisis response and medical assistance, as well as leadership development.
Chelsea Communications manages all the marketing and communication for these pioneering and diverse companies and is looking for the right person to join the team, to lead on all content and communications.

Role objectives | ·Responsible for sign off of all content that comes through the studio
·Overseeing and mentoring the Creative Design Team (2 designers) and the Communications Team (1 communications specialist). ·Ensuring that all content and communication for every brand is consistent, impactful, and relevant. ·Overseeing briefs for projects including copy and creative direction ·Developing the strategic positioning of our clients’ brands, including brand narrative and messaging ·Working closely with our clients at C-Suite level, alongside Communications Director
·Working closely with the Communications Director in this shift from department to internal agency, helping to create methodologies |
Project reporting | This role will be responsible for managing a small team. |
Key competencies | –Â Â Â Â Â Â 15+ experience in marketing or communications/PR. PR Directors especially would be a good fit.
–      5 years in a senior strategy role –      Relevant degree in Marketing, Communications or PR, Journalism or English –      Client facing experience: confident to liaise with our clients’ CEOs and senior management –      Exceptional writing and editing skills –      An eye for detail, language, flow and grammar and an appreciation for the crafting of messaging –      Proven ability to develop brand voice –      Experience managing a team of designers and copywriters –      Ability to multitask and plan across a range of project
