We are a local NGO operating in the Nyanza and Western provinces of Kenya.
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of some of the most vulnerable children and youth living in communities affected by HIV and poverty in Kenya. Our vision is to see communities who feel equipped to respond to the needs of children.
To achieve this we build the capacity of local community groups and work with them as partners in providing children and youth with health and life opportunity enhancing opportunities.
We began our work in 2005 after a small group of European and Kenyan youths met in the Bondo district of Kenya. We had all been working with local non-profit organisations in the area and shared a vision. A vision to give children and youth in Kenya a fair start to life. Dissatisfied with how most non-governmental organisations (NGO) and charities in the area went about to support vulnerable children, we decided to get together and set up an organisation. In 2006 we got registered as a community organisation in Kenya and as a charity in the United Kingdom. In 2009 we got registered as a NGO in Kenya.
We rely on personal donations for our work (click here to get involved) and have also formed partnerships with the following organisations:
