Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech dedicated to international development, is recruiting for an Africa Energy Project Director to work on an energy project in South Africa. This person would be a lead, client-facing representative of the company.
Responsibilities include:
Facilitate electric sector development projects.
Serve as the key technical advisor on multifaceted international projects.
Advise electricity project developers, various donors, and senior government officials.
Manage project cost and quality control, staffing needs, and contractual requirements.
Achieve timely project objectives.
Effectively manage and engage teams and senior leaders to success.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in business, economics, law, engineering, foreign policy, or related field is required.
Minimum 10 years of work experience in the energy sector.
Minimum 7 years of work experience as a senior manager of a complex, international assignment.
Exceptional project management, project development, and leadership skills are essential.
Fluency in written and oral English with excellent presentation skills is mandatory.
Must be willing and able to travel around Africa and to reside in Pretoria, South Africa.
Experience in Africa’s energy sector or financial sector is preferred.
Desired experience in power sector governance and regulation, electric utility operations, independent power projects, and public private partnerships.
Prior work experience or familiarity with Tetra Tech’s international business is ideal.
