About the role
As the MEL Advisor you will be responsible for providing sound technical advice and guidance to improve the quality of our programmes and Sightsavers impact, particularly in respect of inclusion of marginalised communities. As part of the global Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team the MEL Advisor will focus on evaluability and identify, test, review, implement and share MEL approaches that are in line with our increasing portfolio in disability and social inclusion across Africa and Asia. The role includes further developing Sightsavers’ qualitative outcome monitoring approach and delivering high quality and participatory data collection, analysis, and evidence of what’s working in our programmes.
The post holder is expected to travel up to 12 weeks a year locally and internationally. The role offers flexible working from home and the office.

About you
As the successful candidate you will posses a degree or equivalent working experience in a relevant filed (e.g. international development, public health, social sciences), have experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning gained within the international development sector, with in-country experience being an asset. You will be committed to principles of inclusion and have excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Start date: We would like the successful candidate to start by the 9th or 16th of January 2023 in order to be able to attend our annual MEL team meeting in the UK.
