Background:
HKI will be leading the implementation of Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention for Blinding Trachoma and Lymphatic Filariasis (MMPD) activities, under a five year, $35 million Cooperative Agreement with USAID. This activity will provide USAID, the Bureau for Global Health (GH), and the NTD Program with assistance to strengthen MMDP components within national NTD plans and achieve elimination goals for trachoma and lymphatic filariasis (LF) within Africa; and will assist countries in planning, implementing, and monitoring the scale‐up of high‐quality treatment and care services for affected individuals.
Scope of the Position:
The Regional Program Finance Manager, MMDP is responsible alongside the country offices for the financial management of MMDP activities in HKI program countries within the portfolio. Working as part of the MMDP team, s/he serves as the financial liaison to country office, regional and HQ MMDP staff. The position’s main responsibilities are to work closely with the country office finance and program staff to provide support in the preparation and review of annual project and fixed obligation grant budgets and grant budget narratives; to prepare invoices and other financial reports; ensure strong tracking of program expenditures, including all sub-awards by the country offices; conduct continual analysis of cash flow, ensuring compliance with HKI and donor policies; and provide staff training in coordination with the MMPD team, the regional office and the Finance department. This position will work collaboratively with the HQ MMDP Program Finance Manager to ensure strong financial management of this agreement.
Functional Relationships:
This position will report directly to the Regional Program Manager, MMDP and have strong working relationships with the regional finance team and the HQ Program Finance Manager, MMDP. This position will, therefore, serve as a member of both the MMDP team and the regional Finance team, ensuring congruity and consistency of financial policies and procedures.
