The Regional Representative is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing empowering and inclusive management of staff, investment strategies, program management, country supervision, and leading the technical group within a specific geographic region. The individual in this position plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s goals, values, ensuring effective project implementation, and fostering trust and collaboration with various stakeholders. S/he is coordinating with Regional and Country Teams (under the guidance of the Regional Director) to develop the business case, investment documentation, identify and analyze project opportunities, competitive strengths and weaknesses of projects and their sponsors/funders. The Regional Representative also takes responsibility for the management of regional programs, projects, and staff, particularly in relation to projects centered on strategic sectors, finance, investment planning/development and related capacity building and training.
S/he provides quality control over program/projects and makes recommendations, develops, and discusses operational solutions with internal and external stakeholders, persuades management to undertake new projects, and produces preliminary analysis/projections to assess the soundness of a potential project or product.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate a sound understanding of program management, complex program, investment methods and financing solutions, including ample experience handling a variety of investment instruments in project and corporate finance in both the private sector as well as public sector environments. The candidate must have demonstrable experience of delivering projects in both the public and private sector through all stages of project delivery.
The Regional Representative will report to the Director of Africa. He/She will work with the Regional Office staff in the regional office and staff in HQ on global and with the country teams local projects.

Additionally, in coordination with the relevant GGGI Units, external experts, and organizations, S/he will co-lead the research, analysis, and packaging of relevant local and global lessons and learning materials into knowledge products that are applicable to the context of the project. S/he will design and deliver innovative capacity development activities and utilize available technologies to influence the participation of target stakeholders while ensuring the achievement of learning outcomes.
The Regional Representative manages a portfolio of programs/projects in the west Africa countries, engaging with country teams, in-house and external experts/organizations. The Regional Representative provides technical advice and guidance to other staff members and leads capacity building of internal staff and government officials in the area of Investment project design, preparation and implementation. The Regional Representative plays a critical role in building, maintaining, and strengthening partnerships with government counterparts and international/local stakeholders in the public and private sectors. The Regional Representative will play a pivotal role by working and coordinating all others technical regional lead in the Africa region.

This Regional Office manages and coordinates GGGI’s current activities in Africa region, serves to engage with Africa regional organizations, develop new regional activities, develop, and manage engagements with countries interested to joining GGGI, and supports the engagement of GGGI member and partner countries.
